      Thanks for your interest in Roundabouts. They’re quite new to Hawaii, hence all admit there’s a steep learning curve. That’s why I started this website, to help get the word out.

      The “Roundabouts” section begins on page 105 with this sentence. “Roundabouts should be considered the first traffic control option at otherwise controlled intersections.” which I think encapsulates our progress toward more installed Roundabouts. In my judgement this means there are traffic engineers within the Dept. of Transportation Services who well know the safety and economic value of Roundabouts. The hardest sell is to the public. Once the citizenry begins to ask for Roundabouts they’ll be built.
